We’d like to congratulate our friends at the Cleveland based LavaRoom recording studios as they move to their new home on Euclid Avenue. To celebrate, LavaRoom is having an open house at 6pm on Thursday, August 20th, complete with tours of the new facility, live entertainment, food, beverages, and giveaways.

LavaRoom felt that with the new location, the timing was perfect for a marketing collateral update. We’re helping them kick off their open house in style with wide format banners, business cards, rate postcards as well as some screen printed t-shirts.

LavaRoom is moving from their previous location where, for a few years, Jakprints and LavaRoom were neighbors. It seems like only yesterday we were sneaking next door to see who they were recording. On one such afternoon, productivity came to a hault as half of Jakprints went nextdoor to see an unplugged performance from Mike Ness & Social Distortion. (not a bad way to spend a lunch break!)

Jakprints is excited to be a part of “The Big Race”, a big wheel and skateboard racing extravaganza! Organized by Public Square Group, a non-profit dedicated to supporting skateboarding, art and civics, all the proceeds go to support public skateparks in the north-east Ohio area. Racing begins at 2pm on August 23rd near the Cleveland, Ohio shoreway.

So, when you’re as huge as The Black Dahlia Murder, a lilliputian 3″ x 11″ standard bumper sticker won’t cut it. That’s why they chose to go big (noticing a trend here?) and went for a massive 24″ wide, custom die-cut sticker.

We ran two versions for the band, one with black ink on white vinyl and one with black ink on a brushed chrome polyester stock. These are very similar to the ones we ran for Clutch just a few months ago, but with a more complex custom shape. A sticker this enormous will definitely get you noticed.

Sticker Printing

Recently while jonzing for an iced mocha, I decided to hit up a nearby Starbucks. While waiting for my drink to be made I noticed some table tents on display. What caught my eye is that they are printed on the inside as well, making it two table tents in one. The second side of printing makes for a more diverse and useful table tent than the standard 4/0 one-side printing.

We see a lot of table tent orders come through the shop, but usually they are designed one-sided. At Jakprints, we charge the same price for a single or double-sided table tent, so don’t forget to make yours reversible!

We’re not saying there isn’t a time and place for a elegantly designed 5″ W x 5″ H inch center chest logo, but come on… more is more right? The latest trend in apparel imaging is printing oversized graphics that utilize large areas of the garment. So, satisfy your urge to go full-frontal and print BIG!

• Helpful Hint: We don’t charge by “area” of ink coverage, so a 5″ W x 5″ H graphic is the same to us as a 15″ W x 23″ H.

Oversized location prints run from the top to the bottom of the garment at a size of 20″ W x 28″ H. Only certain apparel styles are big enough to accommodate this type of print, so be sure to plan around an apparel type that can suit your jumbo design!

Top Runoff location prints from sleeve-to-sleeve, across the shoulder and collar, at a size of 28″ W x 20″ H. Top runoffs are limited to discharge or 1-color hybrid inks, but that doesn’t mean you can’t print overtop of it… just like Clutch did on their newest t-shirt design.
