Revolver Golden Gods Swag Bags For IndieMerch
No comments · Share · Posted by Jakprints in Work

Revolver Magazine’s the Golden Gods Awards event is just around the corner. Our friends at IndieMerchstore are providing the bags for the swag, and were in need of something special for the VIPs.

IndieMerchstore wanted to make something that could market their brand, but also be sleek and stylish enough for people to reuse. Here we see Emily inspecting the embroidery on a completed bag.

The bag they decided to use was the Rothco 9148 in black. Here we a few of the 150 bags getting embroidered using threads that match the IndieMerch corporate colors.

In addition to their logo being printed on the outside of the bag, IndieMerch went the extra mile and had us screen print the inner pocket too.

We also inserted custom labels to the inside flap of the bag.

This was a fun piece for us to produce because it allowed us to combine many of our embroidery capabilities along with screen-printing. Here’s the final product that will be handed out on April 8th, and will contain the VIP swag at Revolvers Golden Gods Awards. VH1 Classic will be airing the awards on May 22nd.

Katie Spotz Completes Her Solo Row Across The Atlantic
No comments · Share · Posted by Jakprints in News, Work

After 70 days and 2,817 miles, Katie Spotz became the youngest person to successfully complete a solo row across the Atlantic Ocean, rowing into Georgetown, Guyana, on Sunday. The 22-year-old set out on Jan. 3 from Dakar, Senegal, in West Africa and had planned on arriving in Cayenne, French Guiana.
Katie’s row raised funds and awareness for the Blue Planet Run Foundation, a charitable organization that funds safe drinking water projects for billions of people around the world in need.

She far surpassed her original fundraising target of $50,000, raising a total of $70,905 for the charity as of her arrival in port.
“I am so thankful to all of the people who followed my journey and sent me encouraging messages, but especially for their donations and support for safe drinking water, which were inspirations for the row,” said Spotz.
Jakprints is proud of Katie, and proud to have been a part of supporting her and her cause on an amazing journey.

Not only is today St. Patrick’s Day (happy st. pattys internet people!), it also marks the start of the music portion of Austin’s SXSW festival. We’ve been enjoying the interactive and film, and now we’re getting ready to hear some amazing music. We’re meeting a ton of great people, and we’re excited to spread to word about Jakprints and the variety of services we offer.

This year at SXSW we’re giving people chances to win prize packages by “Hitting the Jakpot!” We’ve got a customized slot machine set up for anyone who visits our booth, with chances for discounts, free printed products and more, but unlike Vegas, anyone who stops by will not leave empty handed.

We’re also hitting the streets with a custom door hanger version of the slot machine. Kind of a home version if you will…

So if you’re in Austin, and you’re looking to create merchandiese, promote an event, or market your brand, stop by and see us! We’ve got the JakPot slot-machine fired up, and we’re hoping to give away some great prizes!

South By Southwest officially begins today with the start of their interactive and film portions of the festival. Jakprints will be there too, and we’ve got some exciting prizes and specials at our booth. (more on that in our next post!) Here is some of work we’ve produced for customers that are also going to be in Austin for SXSW.

Vip Laminates are always a necessary item for festivals and events, this year we saw a wide variety of venues and shows. This picture features Hype Machine who printed two variations, a general pass as well as a VIP. Their general pass utilizes our high gloss lamination, but to make the VIP version more distinct, we finished it using our soft-touch coating.

Another item that is gaining popularity, especially for large venues and events, is the pocket-sized folding map.

We produced this folding map for Sched, which will help festival goers find their way through the Austin streets to the 80+ stages and venues hosting events.

Catalogs and booklets are also great for festival giveaways or merchandise. This year Red Gorilla printed a venue and music guide, Ice Cream Man did another installment of his free publication “Off The Wookie, and Tunecore released an update to their “Music Industry Survival Guide”.
All in all SXSW 2010 is shaping up to be an awesome event, thanks again to our amazing customers that entrust us to print their SXSW materials!
