New Video: Apparel Screen Printing – Image Locations

Jakprints has state-of-the art screen printing presses with an arsenal of custom pallets to get the job done. Print up to 12 individual spot colors on white or light garments, or 10 spot colors on darks. Cost is determined by the number of inks per print location — the amount of ink is not a factor,  so live it up and take advantage of the maximum print area!

Standard Print Locations

Standard Print Locations are the areas of a garment that are quick and efficient to print, which ultimately keeps the price low on your order. Print up to 15″ wide and 20″ tall, anywhere on the body of the garment.

• Full Front
• Center Chest
• Left Chest
• Right Chest
• Full Back
• Upper Back
• Center Back
• Lower Back

Specialty Print Locations

Specialty Print Locations take a more time to to meet our quality standards. These locations generally use specialty printing press pallets, which causes for additional setup times.

• Pocket
• Hoodie
• Over-The-Zipper
• Over-The-Collar
• Run-Offs
• Sleeves
• Oversize

Possible inconsistencies may result from printing over the bottom hem, sleeve and side seams, zippers, pockets or over the collar. Irregularities in the graphic from printing over these areas include ink build-up, skipping, or uneven appearance in color. Please consult your Account Manager for any possible problem areas for your specific order.

Max Print Area

The Maximum Print Area is different for each location (and sometimes garment) and is generally limited by the smallest garment in your order. If you’re looking to maximize your print area, ask your Customer Service Rep for help with your order. However, these dimensions will usually get you close:

• Mens / Unisex Apparel: 15″ x 23″.
• Womens Apparel: 13″ x 23″.
• Youth Apparel: 9″ x 23″.

For Oversize prints we can create images up to 20″ x 28″. Just be aware that this size will print over sleeve seams and will most likely run-off the bottom of the shirts.

Run-Offs: Please include .5″-1″ bleed.

Safe Area: To prevent any irregularities in your print caused by non-flat print surfaces, keep all graphics at least 1″ away from all seams, pockets, zippers or collars.

Anchor Point

Anchor Point refers to a fixed point that is consistent across all of your garments, regardless of their size. E.g., Center Chest, 3″ below the collar. By lining up your graphic with the Anchor Point, we can keep your apparel looking sharp across the entire size range. Anchor Points can communicate whether your image should gravitate towards the top, bottom or side of all the shirts in your order.

You may also indicate a horizontal distance from a sleeve or side seam, if the print should be “left/right justified”. Should your graphic need to be applied off-center on every size rather than measured from the edge, simply leave instructions where the graphic should cross the center-line of the body (and leave a guide in your file if possible).
