What’s a Clear Sticker? Glad you asked. Instead of telling you we thought showing you would be best. Clear Stickers are great label alternatives if you’re on a budget but want a custom shape for your design. Fantastic for application on windows, glass, beer bottles or mirrors. The possibilities are endless and did we mention there’s a unicorn?
We announced last week that we’ll be a sponsor for this year’s Sunset Strip Music Fest. This three day music festival in the heart of LA boasts performers like Marilyn Manson, Black Label Society, Das Racist, De La Soul and more. We printed a handful of collateral promo items for them including Posters and VIP Passes. We also produced a video that will loop on a ton of screens during the event. We think the video turned out pretty darn good, so we thought we’d show you the full 16 second video in all it’s glory. Have a look, and then keep scrolling to see pics of the print work we did for them.
The Cleveland Tattoo Expo is over and we gotta say, that was a pretty awesome three days. The CSU Wolstein Center was packed with tattoo enthusiasts from across the country. The Expo did not disappoint and we’ve got the footage to prove it. Jakprints was on hand all weekend showcasing our print services, interviewing tattoo artists and even getting tattoos! Congratulations to Dave Maynard for organizing and executing such an incredible event. We couldn’t be happier to be included as a sponsor and vendor. Check out our video recap of the Expo and the weekend!
Still haven’t had enough? We also posted a photo album on the Jakprints Facebook page.
For a first time music festival in Cincinnati, Ohio, the Bunbury Music Festival was a huge success. This three day fest boasted headliners Jane’s Addiction, Weezer, and Death Cab for Cutie. Other bands on the bill included Minus the Bear, RJD2, Neon Trees, Ohio grown indie-rock legends Guided by Voices, Cleveland favorites Humble Home, and many more.
Jakprints is happy to call Bunbury Fest a client and excited that we handled most of the printing for this burgeoning event. We printed all of their collateral including, posters, VIP laminates, T-shirts and more. Take a look at these great pieces we printed and then watch some video from the fest. Bunbury Music Festival was this past weekend from July 13-15. We’re you there? Will you be attending any other music festivals this summer? Let us know in the comments!
For this month’s Employee Spotlight, we spoke to VP of Product Development Bill Rupnik. Bill is one of Jakprints most seasoned employees, he’s been with the company for 11 years! When he’s not at Jakprints developing new products, you can find him at the William Rupnik Gallery, an art gallery that he owns and operates in downtown Cleveland. Let’s take a closer look at the man that is Bill Rupnik.
The Berklee College of Music recently asked Jakprints, as a progressive authority in the printing and apparel industry, to create an educational video series to use in their curriculum.
In this video, industry experts Jacob Edwards (Founder and President) and Nick DeTomaso (Director of Operations) share insights and advice on how to get started when marketing your music and yourself as a brand and musician. Drawing on years of experience and deep roots in the music industry, Jacob and Nick touch on everything from the still relevant, one-color black t-shirt, to the fact that marketing and branding are necessary to the survival of the independent artist or musician.
A Few Key Take Aways From The Video:
Another 50/50 show is in the books. This is quickly becoming one of our favorite events in Cleveland. Where else can you find an all-star caliber collection of 50 of Cleveland’s best artists under one roof? And where else will you have the opportunity to purchase a piece of said collection for $50?
If you’re not familiar, The 50/50 Show is a pretty great idea. 50 artists contribute one piece of art to the show, all pieces are priced at $50. Attendees fill out raffle tickets for the pieces they like and a drawing is done to determine who the lucky winner will be. It’s a win-win for everybody, the artists are exposed to a much larger audience than they might otherwise be, and attendees can purchase great artwork at a lower rate then they would ever be able to in a normal gallery setting.
This year’s show took place at The Dredgers Union on East 4th and it was one of the best attended yet. Of course Jakprints was there and we got the chance to interview a handful of the artists. Watch the video below to see what these artists have to say about the 50/50 show, the Cleveland art scene and more.
Confused by how to order the garment that you need? Unsure what print locations are standard versus custom? Wish somebody would just spell it out in plain English? No problem.
In what will be the first in a series of many, this introductory video was produced by Jakprints to equip you with the need-to-know facts of apparel screen printing. Watch as industry expert, and Jakprints Account Manager, Angie Franklin walks you step-by-step through the basics of garments, inks, print location and finishing.
One of the new features here at the Jakprints blog is the monthly wrap up. We understand that you get busy and you may not have the time to hang on every word we type, so here’s a recap of all the awesomeness you may have missed in a tidy package just for you.
One of our favorite posts of the month featured a handful of very talented and accomplished graphic designers sharing their two cents about the current state of typography. Click here to read what Jeff Finley, OKPants, Brian Jasinski and Ted Barnes had to say.
We started the month off with a feature about John G and Jake Kelley’s new Cleveland based horror comic The Lake Erie Monster. We were there for their release party at Blue Arrow Records. Check out the video we put together highlighting the creation and release of The Lake Erie Monster and see the original blog post with pics from the event here.
